Base skins
A ship's Skin plays a large part in determining its appearance in-game. Skins are composed of four parts: paints (the primary color scheme of the ship), polishes (the details), propulsions (the appearance of the engine trails left by the ship as it moves), and modules (a catch-all category for all other visual changes). Skin parts, regardless of how they are acquired, are only usable on particular ship series (for now, there are two sets of skin parts, one set for Gemeter ships and the other set for Astrolax ships).

Partner Skins[edit]

Notable persons or other entities which stream Gangs of Space gameplay, play a significant role in promoting the game, or are otherwise important to the developers, can be recognized as partners by Little Big MMO. Each one that receives this status is granted one or more one-of-a-kind Gemeter skins which are normally only usable by that person or entity. Some of these unique skins are also usable by normal players if they obtain a valid code and redeem it on their account page.

Below is a list of known partner skins:

  • Lord British: A skin, distinguished by snakes on the wings, given to two of the creators of Ultima Online (Richard Garriott and Starr Long). The skin references Lord British, a character in the aforementioned MMO.
  • Lord Chaos: A skin, distinguished by "snowflakes" on the wings, given to two of the creators of Ultima Online (Richard Garriott and Starr Long). The skin references Lord Blackthorn, a character in the aforementioned MMO.
  • Drifting Lands: A skin, orange and black with spines protruding from the midsection, given to Alkemi Games, the creator of Drifting Lands. Codes for the skin may soon be obtainable - visit the Steam discussions for that game for more information.
  • monsieursapin: A green skin with yellow detailing, given to its namesake. Codes for the skin may be offered during monsieursapin's Twitch streams.
  • Bestio: A black and green skin, given to its namesake. Codes for the skin may be offered during Bestio's Twitch streams.
  • IndieMag: A skin bearing the logo of IndieMag, a French website focused on independently-developed games which has been following the development of Gangs of Space. Initially given to Seldell, one of IndieMag's creators, normal players can obtain it by reading a certain news article on the site.
  • Game Side Story: A skin bearing the logo of Game Side Story (GSS), an independent video game news site. Obtaining a code for this skin requires one to do editing work for the site - for more information, contact Skywilly on Twitter.
  • Isaac: A skin, made to look like the protagonist of The Binding of Isaac and its variants, which was initially given to Edmund McMillen, the creator of these games as well as some others.
